In this second article we wanted to share personal thoughts and raise to your attention some important factors on why you iphone or Android phone can sometimes be your worst companion.
Basically, geeky as we are, we’re often busy checking latest tweets, news, articles, reading emails ..etc. trying in vain to absorb this huge flow of information that nowadays became so easily available online. So much so, that we fill every spare minute we have by sometimes hysterically and continuously swiping touch screens. Not even the few seconds waiting for the elevator are spared. In these few seconds, you cycle through your mail boxes, and perhaps even answer a few emails.
Instead, we probably should take the time to stop, contemplate on Allah’s creation and meditate on his so many blessings. We should be performing the dikr or istighfar we so desperately need.
In fact these are the intimate moments we have less and less nowadays. Even outside of an islamic context, it is proven that it’s in these idle and intimate moments that your brain is not subject to a boxed thinking and that your creativity gets unleashed. Only in these moments, brilliant and uncommon ideas come to existence. Unfortunately connected devices are lethal in this sense that it kills those moments…
